Abstract

The prevalence of risk factors for non-communicable diseases in the Republic of Uzbekistan was studied according to the standard WHO STEPS methodology among the population aged 18-64 years. It was found that 30.8% of the population has an elevated level of blood pressure. Of these, almost half of the examined persons - 46.5% had an elevated level of blood pressure. It is necessary to pay attention to a quarter of the adult population - 26.1%, who have not previously measured blood pressure, and among them, there are 2 times more men than women. This group of people is the most vulnerable to the development of cardiovascular complications. The largest proportion of persons with elevated blood pressure was found in the age group of 45-69 years - 18.2%, i.e. every sixth man - 17.4% and every fifth woman - 19%. The proportion of people with elevated blood pressure was 23.4%: among men - 19.9%, among women - 27%. In this group, there is also a tendency to increase blood pressure with age, so if at the age of 18-29 years there were 12.4% of such patients, then at the age of 45-69 years the number of patients increased by 3-4 times and amounted to 43.6% (95 % CI: 39.5-47.7).
