When studying the prevalence of arterial hypertension in the Republic of Uzbekistan in people aged 18-64, arterial hypertension was 30.8%. Moreover, in half of the surveyed, arterial hypertension was detected for the first time. Arterial hypertension occurred in every sixth man - 17.4% and in every fifth woman - 19%. In the group of people who are not currently taking antihypertensive treatment, in 63.8% of cases, an increase in blood pressure levels of more than 160/100 mm Hg was detected. Moreover, there are significantly more men among them than women. Moreover, with age, there is an increase in the proportion of people who follow the instructions of doctors to take antihypertensive drugs, and in men, these differences are statistically significant.
